TikTok and Instagram Reels: Should your business be using them?

Even if your audience trends toward an older age group, videos are reigning supreme on social media and the thought that only Gen Z is watching these videos is absolutely wrong. Reels are now on Facebook and Instagram, which means you’re reaching all different age groups.

It’s time to take advantage of this growing tool.

Reels and Tiktok videos can be 10 seconds to 10 minutes. You can do anything for such a short time. Think of this as the new elevator pitch!

Not ready to show your face or break it down like MJ?

We understand - we are not asking you to jump right in! You can reach your audience without showing your face - at first. Here are some ideas to post your first video on social media, whether its a Reel or TikTok for different industries: 

  • Outdoor Recreation Company: video of different outdoor scenery with instrumental or energetic audio

  • Hair Salon: take before and after video of the client’s hair with transitional type audio.

  • Realtor: showcase a house with high energy audio with text pinpointing areas of the home or what not to do when purchasing a home (ex: should your client go buy a brand new car while in escrow?)

With video content, the possibilities are endless! Even if you don’t see your videos get high engagement, give it time and use those beginning videos as a practice to get familiar with the platform.
