Struggling with Wordpress? Make a switch!

I know we’ve all heard from various designers and developers how great Wordpress is, but maybe you find the backend clunky and difficult to navigate, or maybe you don’t like the look of the site and you don’t want to call your designer to fix something simple every time. I get it! Wordpress does have some fantastic capabilities but overall the security is beneath other platforms and some of the most popular Wordpress hosts aren’t exactly easy to work with.

Let’s have 2022 be the year you take control of your business and make a switch to something you like better! With cloud-based development platforms like Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, and more, the opportunities for you to control your website are endless.

Although I do offer and work in Wordpress development I have found a growing number of clients are making the switch to Squarespace, which has also become my preferred platform over the past four years. So much so that I became a member of Squarespace Circle, a program designed to support, inspire, and engage the community of creatives, developers, and designers who use Squarespace to build beautiful websites for themselves and their clients. As a Circle member, I have access to longer trial periods, optimized customer support, and access to exclusive content - and I get to pass those benefits onto my clients!

So maybe you’re now wondering why you should switch to Squarespace. Here are a few reasons why I think the time is now to ditch Wordpress and switch to a content management system you like better:

SQUARESPACE IS SUPER EASY TO USE

Squarespace offers the cleanest selection of themes and designs without having to constantly update a variety of different plugins and widgets. It also has the easiest to use interface so you have control of the content on your site (and you don't have to worry about calling your designer to fix it, saving you time and money). You definitely don't have to know or use code at all, and there are so many options for what you can add to your site - photo, video, calendars and scheduling, social feeds, etc.

SECURITY IS TOP-NOTCH WITH SQUARESPACE

Having a secure place to host your website is extremely important. In the past, I've had and seen issues with other providers who allow loopholes in some of their widgets that offer opportunities for not-so-great people to sneak their way into your website.

You know how people say Apple Computers can’t get viruses? They say that because everything in the system is built by Apple and not multiple manufacturers whose products may not fully “speak” to each other. This is the same as Squarespace v. Wordpress. Everything within Squarespace is maintained by Squarespace versus having multiple plugins and widgets that require constant updating or you’re at risk.

BLOGGING AND E-COMMERCE ARE BUILT-IN FEATURES – NO WIDGETS ARE NEEDED

Adding a blog or creating an online shop is super simple with Squarespace! These features are built right into the platform so you don’t have to manage different platforms or multiple logins. Plus, Squarespace has some pretty amazing eCommerce features, so your shop will run beautifully and professionally without any added widgets or platforms.

SQUARESPACE IS OPTIMIZED FOR SEO – NO PLUGINS NEEDED

Squarespace is super SEO friendly, and they've built features into their platform to increase your visibility on search engines. You don't have to install any extra plugins or widgets to be able to actually get found on the web. Updating your keywords, syncing with Google Analytics, and blogging features will all help your search ranking and are easy to achieve on your Squarespace website.
