4 Ways to Increase Instagram Reach headed into 2023

You are working hard to beat the algorithm, but your reach is still not where you want it. We get it - it happens to all of us. We are here to let you know there are ways to help combat the lag in reach and increase your visibility with your target audience despite the algorithm’s stronghold.

We have four ways to increase your reach on Instagram posts to ensure your posts are noticed by future clients/customers.

Add the Location

Ensure you include location on your posts so that when users search for a specific location on Instagram, your post will appear among the search results. You can use different locations based on your surrounding areas to help reach more of your audience. You could use an actual city location, a business, or another landmark. For example, if you are in New York, locations like Central Park or Empire State Building could get a high reach, but there are other steps to take to ensure your post is noticed.

Use Relevant Hashtags

We encourage businesses to create hashtag libraries for their brand and products. A hashtag library has a variety of words that your future client could search for on Instagram. A great way to build your hashtag library is to search your competitors and target clients you would want to work with and look at the hashtags they are using. Once you have done this, it will allow you to view what your audience is searching for and build an appropriate library to use for future posts. It is good to keep your library up-to-date every few months as trends change.

Tag people in your posts

Now, this does not mean tagging anyone in your posts - don’t be a spammer!

BUT, if you are posting about a local business or even the city you are in, tag them in it. The accounts you tag in your post will be notified. They could reshare your post, which would increase the number of views your post receives.

NEW IG Feature: Topics for Reels

A new feature currently being tested by Instagram is topics on Reels. For example, say you are a restaurant - you could use a topic such as food and beverage. It would be another great way to increase the reach of your post. The feature is being rolled out to certain users but keep an eye out for it on your accounts.

All of these options can increase the visibility of your business.

We understand it is hard to keep up with everything Instagram has for you as a business owner, and we are here to help. If you need help building a hashtag library or need help navigating through these options, let’s chat!
